First Week of Classes

On April 16th, 2012 Welcome Back Students!

Introductions

There are several reasons why I decided to relocate over a thousand miles away from home to attend culinary school in Louisiana. The most important reason, after having reviewed the curriculum and looked up the outstanding faculty, is what food represents in Louisiana. Not only is this magnificent state known for its unique culinary history and tradition, it is also known for the communal experience that is food. Food, to me, is love. My love for food developed since birth, although I was born in Mexico, I was raised in the United States my heritage is evident in my diet, we were taught to treat every ingredient with love and respect.  Food unites us, in a way that words cannot begin to explain. Something surreal occurs when a group of people get together, prepare and enjoy food.
